Tall 1930's Bohemian glass Tango vase in yellow ground by Franz Welz.
With a sensuous, fluted shape and snaking hot blue glass swirling around its vivid yellow body, this is a beautiful piece of Czech glass that will look equally stunning within a period or contemporary interior.
There are two available:
1. with 5 blue glass swirls
2. with 2 blue glass swirls
Designer / Manufacturer: Franz Welz Klostergrab.
Dimensions: H. 22.5cm W. 11cm
Condition: Very good original vintage condition. There may be some slight signs of age and wear as would be expected from a piece of this age. The end section of the blue swirl is slightly chipped (approx 1-2mm) but does not detract from the overall appearance.
Details: Tango glass is a mono coloured glass that was developed by the glass maker Loetz during the Edwardian period. This particular shape is very typical of Franz Welz Klostergrab glass, which is very collectable and often mistaken for Kralik glass. Welz is well known for its brightly coloured glass of the Art Deco era.
