1960's Soholm Stentøj Stoneware Lamp Base Made in Denmark

1960's rustic table lamp designed by Désirée Stentøj and made in Denmark.

The body displays simplicity of line and a glaze with reddish brown fading into deep black. The lamp is in excellent condition and features new wiring.

Désirée Stentøj was founded in 1964 and became well known in Scandinavia for its quality, utility stoneware products and lamps. It's most recognisable design is Thule, which is still a popular collectors range today.

This is an unusual and highly attractive piece of the Danish stoneware tradition, so popular in contemporary homes.
