This set of demitasse cups is one of the earliest from the Wold Pottery tradition. Aidan Dixon who set up Wold Pottery in 1954 originally marked the earliest pieces as Beverley Pottery. Dixon had previously worked at Hornsea Pottery before setting up his own business and later went on to apprentice Jill Christie who runs Wold Pottery to this day, These beautiful hand thrown cups are not only early proponents of the rustic, farmhouse style of kitchenware that became highly popular in the 60-70s but are beautifully thrown so will withstand may more years of use.
A rare to find set of one of Dixon's earliest ranges and a very early example of Wold Pottery craftmanship.
