This is an extremely beautiful and rare sideboard/credenza from the Jentique 1964 catalogue, model 179. It was available in three wood veneers, Teak, Tola and American Walnut, this one being in Walnut which gives it this beautiful deep reddish shade.
The tapered legs add an elegant and contemporary style to this high quality piece founded in the 1930s and led by Bernard Smart from 1936 (maker of Metamec clocks), Jentique very much had its finger on the pulse of the new era of Danish modern design style. Jentique furniture produced many great pieces over the 60s and 70s and produced a wonderful collection of beautifully shaped furniture with attractive moulded, Danish style handles.
It contains one fixed shelf in each side cupboard. The centre drawers include a divided top drawer for cutlery (ideal nowadays for storage of remotes and cables). Then three lower drawers with good storage capacity.
