1960's Mid Century Jentique long sideboard in teak and Bbech.

This is a beautiful Mid Century sideboard, manufactured by Jentique furniture. At 182 cm long, it has ample storage space for a variety of uses. In the centre, you will find a spacious double cabinet of 88.5 cm width. There is a shelf inside the cupboard, perfect for storing DVDs, games, board games or media accessories. On the left-hand side there are three drawers of varying heights with dividers in the top drawer for cutlery or remote controls. On the right-hand side is a handy, drop-down drinks cabinet with a recessed shelf inside. The drop down door makes a useful shelf for pouring your perfect nightcap.

The sideboard is built from teak veneer and solid beech edging and handles. The handles are attractively sculpted, a signature feature of Jentique designs. The sideboard sits on a solid teak frame of tapered legs with brass coated feet.

About Jentique

Jentique furniture was founded in the 1930s and led by Bernard Smarts from 1936 (maker of Metamec clocks). Jentique very much had its finger on the pulse of the new era of Danish Modern design style. Jentique furniture produced many great pieces over the 1960s and 70s, designing a wonderful collection of beautifully shaped furniture with simple form and attractive moulded Danish style handles. Jentique furniture, along with G Plan, Austinsuite, Avalon and Ercol, was one of the mainstays of the British Mid Century manufacturing boom.

This is a rare and beautiful piece of classic British design and build.
